WHAT'S UP?

ABOUT US

Welcome to the Osprey Snow Hawks Snowmobile Club!

The Osprey Snow Hawks Snowmobile Club was first organized in 1967.  At that time the membership stoop at a grand total of ten.  Each Saturday a couple of the men would map out a trail to be travelled that night by all the members.  Lunch was served upon return by an alternating host family.  The original logo was designed by two of the original members, Doug Martynuik and Wayne Smith in 1967.  A patent was obtained in 1983.  In 1981 the club incoporated and purchased their first piece of grooming equitment.  As of 2016 the Osprey Snow Hawks raised enough money with the community genours support to purchase a new Piston Bully Groomer.
The Osprey Snow Hawks is based out of Feversham, Ontario. We are a member of the OFSC. The OFSC is divided up into districts. The Osprey Snow Hawks is in District 8. We have nearly 90km of trail, which meanders through forest and field. Our scenery is gorgeous and wildlife can often be spotted alongside the trail.  100% of our club is operated by volunteers. This is a list of just a few things that our invaluable volunteers do…
• trail planning
• contact landowners to get (and to keep) permission to cross their land
• clear away brush, fallen trees, and other obstacles from the path of the trail
• inspecting and assessing signs and markers, and arranging what needs to be purchased for the next season
• putting up trail signs and markers
• constantly assessing the trails to see whether they can be safely opened, or remain safely open.
• grooming the trails
• taking down the trail markers at the end of the season
• organizing events
Special thanks to all the Volunteers who helped make last year a success. We would also like to give special thanks to the Land Owners who have made the Snowmobile Trails possible for us. Please show respect to the Land Owner’s rights and property so we may continue having this privilege. New faces and ideas are always welcome.
Please come out and become a VOLUNTEER!

PERMITS

Here are some interesting facts from the 2016-2017 season.

Trails first opened on December 10th, 2016 and many parts of the province had riding opportunities over the Christmas holidays.

We reached a season peak of more than 25,000 kilometers of trail available for riding during the week of February 14th, 2017.

Your permit dollars contributed to the delivery of 19 new groomers.

Volunteers have always been and continue to be at the very heart of organized snowmobiling in Ontario. Be sure to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication in delivering the best possible riding in the face of constantly changing weather conditions.

Thank you to our landowners who generously donate their land each season contributing to almost 60% of the trails we get to enjoy.
